LARSEN SYNDROME

 

Larsen Syndrome (LS) is a rare disease caused by a generalized embryonic connective tissue disorder caused during gestation. 

 

All of the cases of LS differ in severity ranging from mild to severe.  The affects that can progress with age are breathing difficulties, hearing problems, and spinal deformities. 

 

LS can be characterized by multiple dislocations of the major joints, deformities of the feet and hands, abnormal segmentation of the spine or cervical kyphosis and/or scoliosis, subluxations of the spine and joints, and short stature.
