Dream One World...a nonprofit to change the world...one by one by one.

THE SCHOOL - WORK HAS BEGUN!

We are so grateful to Project Manager Mpagi Edward Edmary, (in hat - be sure to read the "edward's story" page at left to learn his incredible story of forgiveness), and Assistant Manager Katongole Ronald, on left, for securing land near "our" village of Kyamabaale in Kasenge - where we have running water, an entry road, etc.  Their efforts are to be applauded, as this was a time-consuming process.

Further down on this page is a slide show of work on the foundation of the first building for "The Dream One World Centre for Education - Uganda"... the library we are naming "WISDOM."  We broke ground in December, 2009, and the photos are from that beginning.

In Uganda, when a child is orphaned, they are kicked out of school because they cannot pay the school fees.  They often have to resort to drugs and/or prostitution in order to get money to eat and feed their younger brothers and sisters.

This haven we are building will not just be a school.  Ultimately, when we build the dormitories, it will be a safe and secure home for these children.

Everyone working on this project is a volunteer.  This is a school being built for LOVE, with LOVE, by LOVEPlease see the "US" section of this website for a list of the volunteer workers in Uganda.

Donors will have their names and countries inscribed along the foundation wall in a giant "hug" for the children to see each day as they enter.

Only $10 buys 90 "Bricks of Love!" Your name and country will be listed on an outer foundation block.

To donate to this ONE-der-FULL project, please click on this button for our secure online donation form.

Please put "Uganda" in the gift information box.  You will receive a tax deductible receipt, with our gratitude.

You may also send donations by check or money order made out to DREAM ONE WORLD directly to the address at left.

Our vision is that the children who enter each day will see the names of people around the world "hugging" them in the growth of their school and their lives.

You are making a difference for decades... THANK YOU.

From Edward:

The poverty level is so high in this village that most villagers go with only one meal every 24 hours.  There is no piped water, only water from a well that is contaminated during the rainy season.  There is no power supply in this village, so people use paraffin for lighting and firewood for cooking.

There are few homes with proper housing structures.  Many are grass houses, others have poor roofing systems that leak during the rainy season.

The roads and means of transportation in the region are all poor.  Most villages in our area do not have electricity, clean water, good housing, food security, medical.

In Masaka, 272km away, there is one government hospital with a population of about 2 million people.  People stand in line a minimum of 24 hours hoping for medical assistance.

THERE ARE NO EXISTING GOVERNMENTAL SERVICES IN KYAMABAALE, NOR ANY OTHER NONPROFIT OR NGO FROM ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD HELPING US.  DREAM ONE WORLD IS OUR ONLY HOPE.

From Kathy Chism, founder of DREAM ONE WORLD:

"Our vision is to create a center library, with classrooms in blocks and walkways between in a circle around that.  Another outer circle will comprise other needed facility buildings and the dormitories.

Like our logo, like the symbol for gratitude, like the concentric circles that fan out from a stone dropped in water, these children will be constantly "hugged" by the structure.  Our plan is to list each donor's name and country around the foundation of each building as well.

In addition, our vision is to name each building words like "Forgiveness," "Love," "Acceptance," "Gratitude," "Peace," "Tolerance," "Inspiration," "Kindness," etc.

In this way we are co-creating a new consciousness in building design, and renewal for all who attend."
